‣ The fashion industry Oscars aka The Met Ball is taking place today and in case your invite got the lost in the mail you can still catch the live stream here. You’ll see all the action from the Costume Institute gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, and will feature interviews with Anna Wintour, Riccardo Tisci and Moda Operandi co-founder Lauren Santo Domingo but most importantly you’ll get to catch all the red carpet arrivals. The show is being hosted by Rooney Mara and Beyoncé with red carpet interview duties falling to model Hilary Rhoda and Vogue’s William Norwich. The theme this year is Punk: Chaos to Couture which hopefully means we can expect more than one outrageous outfit to hit the red carpet!
‣ You know something’s reached fashion classic status when it’s been around for 35 years without any sign of its popularity waning. Ferragamo is celebrating the 35th birthday of its Vara shoe and not only has it launched a totally adorable campaign that features the likes of Olivia Palermo and Elettra Wiedermann to go with it, it’s also giving you the chance to customise your very own pair of Vara (or Varinas – the Vara’s ballet flat counterpart) here. You can choose everything from the colour of the bow to the colour of the metal plate and even have the option of having it engraved with your initials if you wish. You’ll think you’ve died and gone to shoe heaven!
‣ The weather’s getting chillier for us southern hemisphere folk, so it’s time to get interested in all things warm and cozy. Enter the new collaboration between Katie Hillier and Markus Lupfer. The collection combines both designers’ signature looks – Lupfer’s sequinned jumpers and Hillier’s animal motifs resulting in a too-cute knitwear range. If you want to get your hands on a jumper, head to Net-a-Porter immediately as the range launches on the site today.
