01 Elizabeth Olsen in vintage Issey Miyake and Mary Kate in a gown by The Row

As with all fashion events, the CFDA Awards brought its A-game with more amazing outfits per square inch than our brains were able to fathom. It was a who’s who of fashion’s biggest names with Proenza Schouler’s Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez taking out Womenswear Designer of the Year and Givenchy’s Riccardo Tisci taking out International Designer of the Year. Other notable awards went to Phillip Lim for Accessories Designer of the Year and a Lifetime Achievement Award going to Vera Wang. With so many people with fashion in their DNA congregating on the one spot, it was only expected that a few stand out trends would emerge. It was all about monochrome, monochrome, monochrome, with the red carpet awash with black and white. Nicole Richie in a gold Marc Jacobs dress made us want to put on the nearest metallic item in our wardrobe immediately and Miranda Kerr showed that jewel tones aren’t going anywhere. Prepare for some memorable red carpet eye candy…
